Reliance Mutual celebrates 100 years

Staff at Reliance Mutual’s (Reliance Mutual Insurance Society Limited) head office in Royal Tunbridge Wells celebrated the company’s centenary today (Friday, 11 March) with a specially designed commemorative birthday cake.

Mark Goodale, Chief Executive of Reliance Mutual said, “This is a very special year for the company; our customers who are also our members and owners; and staff. Reliance Mutual has always put its members first and is highly committed to providing good quality products backed by a friendly professional service. We now look forward to the next 100 years.”

Reliance Mutual specialises in the acquisition of closed books of life and pensions policies, providing white label products, developing Credit Life business, and providing smoker annuity policies via the intermediary market.

Reliance Mutual, established in 1911 originally as the Farringdon Reliance Friendly Collecting Society, started its 70 year plus association with Royal Tunbridge Wells in 1939 after evacuating from London at the start of World War Two. Its current premises Reliance House were formally opened by Local MP and Minister of State, Greg Clark, in September 2010.
