Government Minister opens new Reliance Mutual head office
Greg Clark, MP and Minister of State, Communities and Local Government today formally opened Reliance Mutual’s new head office at 6, Vale Avenue in Tunbridge Wells during a lunchtime ceremony with directors, staff and close business contacts.
Reliance Mutual specialises in the acquisition of closed books of life and pensions policies, providing white label products, developing Credit Life business, and providing smoker annuity policies via the intermediary market.
The company has had a long, successful and close relationship with the Tunbridge Wells area since 1939. The new offices purchased by Reliance Mutual are purpose built for a modern financial services business and comprise 20,000 square feet.
Greg Clark, MP for Tunbridge Wells said, “I am delighted to have been asked to formally open Reliance Mutual’s new offices. The Society is an important local employer and has been a firmly established part of the Tunbridge Wells community for many years. It’s great that they have decided to stay right in the heart of the town.
“Being owned and answerable to their members, mutuals provide a valued and longstanding alternative model for financial services and it’s tremendous to see Reliance Mutual going from strength to strength in Tunbridge Wells.”
Mark Goodale, Chief Executive of Reliance Mutual said, “Reliance Mutual is currently celebrating its centenary and for 70 of those 100 years, we have been in Tunbridge Wells. Over that period, we have established a strong position in the community both as an employer and a business which I am delighted will continue.
“I am extremely grateful to Greg Clark for agreeing to formally open the new office which will be both a more modern and professional environment for my colleagues and more practical on an operational level as we continue to serve our members.”
