Sherry joins Reliance Mutual board
Reliance Mutual Insurance Society Limited (Reliance Mutual) has appointed Nigel Sherry as a Non-Executive Director.
He established Sherry Associates in 2008, a specialist financial services management consultancy, having held a number of senior positions within the financial services sector.
Until 2008 he was Chief Operating Officer at MGM Assurance (from 2003) and Acting Chief Executive Officer for 2007. Prior to MGM he was with AMP from 1999 (Director of Financial Planning at Pearl and Sales Director at NPI) and the Prudential from 1991 (Sales Director at Scottish Amicable and Retail Sales Director at Prudential Intermediary Division).
Commenting on his appointment Seamus Creedon, Chairman of Reliance Mutual said, “Nigel brings with him a wealth of experience both at executive and non-executive levels which will be extremely valuable to the Reliance Mutual board in these challenging times. He is a seasoned business leader who has a strategic mindset, analytical approach and extensive sales, marketing, distribution and general management experience.”
Nigel Sherry said, “Reliance Mutual has some very exciting niche positions within the financial services sector and I look forward to working with Chief Executive Mark Goodale, his management team and the other independent non-executive directors for the benefit of all Reliance.”
Nigel’s interests include the gym, golf, football, theatre and travel.
His appointment is to replace Chris Russell who is retiring from the Board at the AGM in May after 16 years service.
